Blue Meadow Farm
Blue Meadow Beef is a family farm run by Josh and Ashley Pyles, with the help of their children, in Henry County Kentucky. Their farm runs grass and grain finished cattle, pasture raised Cornish rock chickens, and farm fresh eggs from pasture raised chickens. Blue Meadow Beef provides antibiotic, steroid, and hormone free protein to local restaurants, directly to consumer, and at a local store in Henry County.
The Pyles family raises their animals on carefully managed pasture and focuses on healthy, humane farming practices that support both the animals and the land. Their goal is to provide natural, locally raised food for families and restaurants throughout Kentucky while strengthening connections between local farms and their communities.
The Berry Center
The Berry Center established Our Home Place Meat in 2017 to develop a cooperative for small to midsize livestock farmers to sell local meat to regional markets. Beginning in their Home Place in Henry County, Kentucky, they are building a healthy food and farm model that can be replicated in communities throughout the country.
Based on agrarian writings of well-known author Wendell Berry, Our Home Place Meat is guided by these values: fair compensation for farmers, high animal welfare standards, responsible land stewardship, and strong cooperative relationships between farmers and their neighbors.
Fischer Farms
Fischer Farms is a well-known Indiana family farm committed to raising premium beef and pork using humane and sustainable farming practices. Their animals are carefully raised and processed to ensure exceptional quality, consistency, and flavor for restaurants and consumers throughout the Midwest.
“Our home farm has been in our family since my great grandfather bought the land from the sheriff after the civil war veteran who previously owned the land did not return. The land is on rolling hills in southern Indiana that is best suited for cattle. We purchased two neighboring farms and now have 750 contiguous acres. Our focus has been on producing top quality fresh, natural meats each and every week. This consistent supply has made us a farm to fork choice for many restaurants.”
Barr Farms
Barr Farms is a seventh-generation family farm located in Rhodelia, Kentucky, run by Adam Barr and Rae Strobel. The farm focuses on sustainable agriculture, raising organic vegetables, grass-fed beef, and pastured poultry while using practices that protect the land and support long-term soil health.
Through careful stewardship and a commitment to local food systems, Barr Farms supplies fresh, responsibly raised products to restaurants, markets, and families throughout the region. Their work reflects a dedication to quality farming and strengthening connections between local farms and the communities they serve.
3D Valley Farms
3D Valley Farm is located in the rolling hills of Southern Indiana, where Angus cattle are raised naturally on open pasture. Their cattle are raised without added hormones or antibiotics, with careful attention given to humane animal care and healthy grazing conditions.
The farm practices a holistic approach to agriculture through pasture rotation and ongoing efforts to improve soil fertility. Their commitment to sustainable farming and stewardship of the land helps ensure healthy animals and high-quality beef for the restaurants and communities they serve.
Freedom Run Farm
Freedom Run Farm was founded by Valerie Samutin in 2010 after she set out to learn everything she could about raising grass-fed, organic lamb. Inspired by sustainable agriculture and traditional shepherding practices, Valerie left city life in Chicago and moved to rural Kentucky to build her farm and flock.
Today, the sheep at Freedom Run Farm graze freely on open pastures and forage naturally across the landscape. Valerie remains passionate about sustainable farming and is dedicated to helping restore Kentucky’s long history as a thriving lamb-producing region.
Groce Family Farm
Groce Family Farm was founded by Luke and Katherine Groce near Louisville, Kentucky in 2009. What began as a small operation has grown into a diverse farm focused on raising delicious, nutritious food while caring for the land and the ecosystems that support it.
Today the farm offers forest-raised pork, open-pasture chicken, duck, and turkey, along with 100% grass-fed lamb and beef. Their farming philosophy centers on raising abundant, healthy food while fostering biodiversity and long-term soil health.
Rootbound Farm
Rootbound Farm is located in Oldham County, Kentucky on land nestled between Harrods Creek and Darby Creek. The farm grows a wide variety of high-quality organic produce across a diverse landscape of flat fields, rolling hills, and wooded areas.
Each season Rootbound Farm produces more than 50 varieties of vegetables, fruits, and herbs. The farm also raises a flock of Katahdin sheep that graze across Kentucky bluegrass pastures, contributing to a balanced and diversified farming system.
Naked Greens
Naked Greens is a small farm focused on producing fresh greens and salad crops for the Louisville community. Their operation grows a wide variety of produce with a particular emphasis on nutrient-rich leafy greens.
All produce is grown using 100% organic methods without pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers. Their careful growing practices ensure vibrant, fresh ingredients for local restaurants and markets throughout the region.
Eastward Gardens
Eastward Gardens is a Certified Naturally Grown veganic farm in Hardinsburg, Indiana, run by Larry and Michelle Lesher. They grow a high diversity of fresh vegetables, fruits, flowers, and culinary herbs—over 150 varieties in a typical season—serving their community from Hardinsburg to Louisville, Kentucky. Their produce and blooms are grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, or animal inputs, and they use natural methods like cover crops, crop rotation, and soil‑building amendments to nurture nutrient‑dense food.
Eastward Gardens sells at local farmers markets in Louisville and offers seasonal bouquets, produce, and other farm products directly to chefs, customers, and CSA members. Their commitment to healthy soil, safe food, and sustainable growing practices helps bring farm‑fresh ingredients and flowers to the region while supporting a strong local food system.
Country View Creamery
Country View Creamery is a family-run dairy committed to producing high-quality milk and handcrafted dairy products. Their animals are raised with careful attention to health, nutrition, and pasture-based farming practices.
By focusing on traditional dairy methods and responsible animal care, Country View Creamery creates rich, flavorful products that reflect the quality of the milk they produce. Their dedication to craftsmanship makes them a valued partner for restaurants and markets throughout the region.
Capriole Goat Cheese
Capriole Goat Cheese is located just north of the Ohio River across from Louisville and has long been known for its exceptional artisan cheeses. While goats were once central to the farm, the operation now works with nearby Indiana farmers who supply the milk used in Capriole’s cheeses.
This shift has allowed the team to focus fully on cheese making, improving both quality and consistency. Today Capriole’s work continues to be rooted in family tradition, craftsmanship, and a deep appreciation for the land and community that support the farm.
Kenny's Farmhouse Cheese
Kenny’s Farmhouse Cheese is built on the belief that great cheese begins with healthy animals and high-quality milk. Through improved cow comfort, careful nutrition, and attentive herd management, the farm has steadily increased both milk production and animal well-being.
Their herd is closed and carefully managed, with cows often living twice as long as the average for their breeds. By constantly monitoring the health and quality of life of their animals, Kenny’s Farmhouse Cheese produces exceptional cheeses that reflect the care behind every step of the process.
